Caring for your hair extensions:

Correct aftercare of your extensions is essential to maintain the quality of the hair and prolong their life

  • Washing your hair and extensions is essential to maintaining healthy hair, as it will keep the extensions free from product build up and nourish the hair
  • Professional extensions can be washed as often as your hair - we recommend 1-2 times per week (do not wash for the first 48 hours after application)
  • Always brush hair before washing to detangle. Use a wide tooth comb or bristle brush
  • Brush hair extensions holding at the top to ensure you are not pulling on the extension
  • Sulfate free shampoo should be used with our hair extensions, and applied gently to the scalp, letting the suds wash through the hair
  • Condition mid lengths to ends of hair as normal
  • Squeeze any excess moisture out of hair before applying a heat protector
  • Ensure each section of hair is dried fully to avoid extensions going frizzy
  • Turn down heat on styling tools to avoid the hair burning or discolouring, keep heat away from tapes or bonds
  • When hair extensions start to feel frizzy, dull or dry, use a hydrating mask
  • Use a hair mask once a week to restore moisture
  • Nourish hair and tame frizz with argan oil
  • Do not leave hair extensions to dry naturally
  • We do not recommend the hair extensions are coloured or toned
  • We recommend putting the hair in a loose plait before bed to avoid tangling of the hair
  • Regularly separate the bonds of your extensions to avoid matting with natural hair
  • Hair extensions should be removed by a trained professional, self removal can cause damage to your own hair and scalp
  • Regular maintenance appointments are essential to maintain the health of your hair and the extension. Your extensions specialist will discuss this with you at consultation
  • If you have regular hair colour appointments, your extensions will need to be removed and refitted after your colour appointment
